We are seeing extreme price spikes in all areas, but people are most affected by food and energy costs. The massive inflation received a reaction from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. For the first time ever, the Ministry increased the upper limit of meal allowance issued for business trips two times in 2022. Further increase was introduced on Jan 1, 2023. These changes have also affected the tax-optimal value of the meal voucher. Currently, the most optimal value in terms of taxes is CZK 194.70. A smaller increase to CZK 160 might still mean significant help for employees at the lowest cost to the employer.

The value of the most advantageous meal voucher with regard to tax deductibility has increased again from January 1, 2023! Now it is at CZK 194.70.
